Here are a few of the Trails I would like to do this year: I have minimal info on them other than they are not for the Timid.

1} Bronko Canyon = Could be incorperated with our Annual VC Run? Possibly John could Trail Boss this trail? Would have to be done in the warmer weather due to it runs thru the water. The snow & ice could make it unpassable during winter.

2} Eldorado Canyon = I think this is only wet during heavy winter runoff? Mike has ran this trail & would be most likely the TB choice.

3} Fordyce = Locked front & rear required from what I have seen? Most definatly a summer run due to the elevation, we could possibly hook up with the Sierra Trek? This event attracts alot of people, but they slow the water to make it passable for the event. I know how to get some directions for dry camping & wheeling that would make for a good day run / campout.

4} Deer Valley & Strawberry = From the little research I've done these trails are close together & could be done with a 2 night stay @ Sorensens Campground. Fri & Sat night with departing after the run on Sun. Full hookups are avail with enuf notice for reservations. The trail does not open till mid April, so May might be the best time to run these depending on the snowpack this year.

5} Rubicon Trail = An overnight "tent" camping adventure, starting from either Johns Town & do the lower portion of the trail into Bucks Lake. Or the easier Loon Lake entrance to Bucks. Late August is a good time of year due to the temps @ 9000 elevation = like 78 in the day & only 35 @ night.

6} Twister = I've seen photos & it seems to be like the Eagle Lakes area? Details of where it actually is a mystery, but looks like just a day run. Only a couple of hairy spots from what I saw.

7} Gold Lake = would rather not camp there due to the mosquitos = should camp somewhere due to the trip getting there. Not the way Extreme trail like the others but great scenery & kool trails.

I will post up seperate Threads so we can keep the info & ideas in order.

Any all other Trails are also subject to be done = Post away

Sign me up for spectator duty when I can make it. Should be in posession of a new trail rig well in advance of snowmelt so I can finally start particpating in the club runs again. The dirt days are over for the Hippo.

Awesome = if you are in the market for a new rig = there is a built Cherokee for sale @ www.reno4x4.com Gears lockers sliders bla bla bla ya could probly get for just under 4k. the guy seems kinda desperate to get rid of. Yes it has over 2k miles on it - but ours has 240+, seems like a good deal from what ive seen. Check it out.

P.S. I put over 8k into the Cyco Cherokee & this Rig seems to be more than that.

I tackled a good portion of the narrow canyon at the start of Steve's Loop during the summer but came to a huge rock that I dared to go over since there was no way around. At the time I did not have any locker installed and was by myself so I turned around.

I used to have a pdf file of the loop but have since misplaced it. I'll post it if I can locate it. This could be a good day trip even early in the year since it is close to Pyramid Lake.

#6 on the list is set = anybody who dares is welcome.

Dec 15 is the date for the run. "NO Club rules apply"

There will be a open invite to a few different clubs, so it will be at least exciting @ minimum.

No rules & or requirements other than the normal trail gear smarts & Equiptment.

33's Lockedfront & rear with a winch is the minimum to tackle this trail, some say 35's are the minium? This is where the winch comes into play for those without 35's.

This will be an all day event starting about 9ish & ending about 4ish.

Anything goes & all is invited.

Thinkin about inviting a photografer to shoot the event?

Since I am crawlerless I can take pics and videos and general spectator duties such as spotting. I will also add the probability of body damage if running 33's without rocker protection.

I too little.....so I won't be able to play.

It's going to take some extensive mods to make the Samurai fit anything bigger than 33's right now anyway, and I am having too much fun at this level to be ready to go to the next.

I remember when rigs with 33's were considered "Big Dogs".

Oh well, I can't tolerate people drinking and wheeling anyway, and I can read the reason for No Rules.

Have Fun!

I,m backing out of this run due to the snow is going to make for a 5 hour 1/4 mile struggle. And its too darn cold to run w/o windows.
